Overview

What this project is

A personal editorial project: a full cookbook cover and interior layout system, exploring how a recipe page stays functional — ingredients, method, tips — while still feeling like a designed publication rather than a template.

The Brief

The challenge

Recipe pages have to work as instructions first. The challenge was building a layout hierarchy confident enough to feel editorial without ever making a home cook hunt for step three.

Approach

Creative direction

A badge-style logo anchors the cover against full-bleed food photography. Inside, a consistent two-column grid separates ingredients from method, a warm gold is reserved for wayfinding moments like 'Quick Tips', and every recipe sits opposite a full-page photograph — so the book reads as much as it cooks.

The Build

How it came together

Cover to spread

The badge logo, cover photography, and interior recipe layout, shown together as a working system rather than isolated pages.

The real interior, page by page

This is the actual cookbook file — scroll through it below the way a reader would on their phone.

Final Experience

A layout system built to be read as closely as it's cooked from.
